About Mathematics.

The National University of Singapore (NUS) Mathematics Society was founded back in 1985. In the past few decades, society has made a remarkable leap in promoting a more gracious mathematical environment at NUS. Aiming to make the students learn beyond classroom texts, as well as to enrich students' non-academic life.

NUS Mathematics Society has organized various events ranging from the intra-faculty level to the international level. Some of the major events include the annual problem-solving math competition – ProbleMATHic, Singapore Rubik’s Cube Competition, NUS Sudoku Competition, Enrichment Talks, Workshops and Senior-Junior sharing.

The mission of the Society is to promote and facilitate interest in mathematics among the NUS population and act as the medium for information exchange and interaction between the lecturers and staff of the Department of Mathematics and the students in the form of societal activities. We aim to empower our members by providing them with the resources to pursue their interest in math and foster connections with the Mathematics department, and alumni, between seniors and juniors, within a close-knit community.
